Dear Visitor,

As a result of the project a new online database and website is created:

  • is updated on a continuous basis;
  • that contain best practices, methodological guideline on establishing twinning contacts, and local governments may also share their best practices here;
  • the website also contains a “partner search” surface that enables Hungarian and international municipalities to establish new contacts.

the data of the website are results of a survey based on questionnaires undertaken among Hungarian local governments in 2018 and an extensive search of public data also undertaken in 2018, also the results of a survey of the Ministry of Interior from 2014 made use of.

There are all together 3940 twinning relations of Hungarian municipalities, 1517 Hungarian local governments have twinning relations, on average every Hungarian local government have 1,27 twin relation. Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county has the most relationship: 27.
